Solution / Threat

A heightened security presence is the "solution" to the "threat" posed by Muslims. Due to recent events, such as the Charlie Hebdo attack, Muslims like those in the Chapel Hill shootings in the United States face the backlash of ever-growing Islamophobia. We wanted to focus on the stereotypical threat–being a Muslim–and the solution–the police or any security officer. By juxtaposing these two it brings into light the stereotypes both groups face and how the media captures them is not reality. People in France are not as willing to open up about these issues as it is not regularly discussed. Photojournalism in the form of a booklet and part of an exhibition in Parsons Paris.
